Berlin Ost, 4.11.1989. Vintage gelatin silver print. 27,2 x 40 cm (sheet 38 x 49 cm). Titled and signed by the photographer in ink in the lower margin; titled and dated in ink, with photographer's stamp and annotations in pencil on the verso.

Frank Gaudlitz studied photography under Arno Fischer at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig from 1987 to 1991. Since then, he has undertaken extensive long-term photographic projects, particularly in Russia, Eastern Europe and South America, documenting social and political transformations and their impact on individual lives. His work has received numerous awards and is represented in major collections, including the Berlinische Galerie and the Deutsches Historisches Museum, Berlin.
