Artist Index: St. Petersburg

Photographer: Joseph Daziaro and William Carrick (?) and others. Souvenir album of St. Petersburg. 1880s/90s. Circa 100 albumen prints. Various sizes between 21 x 26 cm and 9,5 x 5,5 cm. Some with number in the negative, mounted to gilt-edged album boards (time-stained in edges, some light soiling in edges, warped), most annotated in ink below images in French on mount, bound in contemporary blue full canvas album (edges rubbed) with gilt-embossed title Souvenir de St. Petersbourg on front cover.

This album has a large range of images that give a view of St. Petersburg around the turn of the century. Also inlcudes many portraits of farmers, monks, rural types, merchants and costume studies. These images are most likely by Williiam Carrick. – First pages soiled, two last pages soiled and with moisture staining, some prints faded, some with light surface scuff marks, otherwise in good to very good condition.
