Each numbered, titled and signed in negative on lower portion of print. Bound in full-parchment album with gilt-embossed ornamentation.

This album comprises a variety of views of Cairo, featuring iconic landmarks such as the Pyramids of Giza, the Citadel, and the Mosques of Sultan Hassan, Sultan Barquq, and Muhammad Ali, along with the City of the Dead and the Mosque of Amr ibn al-As. It also captures scenes of daily life, including students studying the Qur’an and a muezzin calling to prayer. Additionally, the album contains photographs of several artifacts from the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, as well as views of the Ezbekieh Gardens and the Palace of Gezira. – Some scuff marks, fading and signs of oxidation along edges of prints, otherwise in good condition.

Very comprehensive group of views of Cairo and Egypt, also showing the pyramids and other antiquities. – Minimal scuff marks, most faded, some with small tears in edges, otherwise in good condition.

Attractive, exceptionally finely printed large views of Egyptian monuments and landscapes as well as a panoramic view of Cairo. – Some with foxing, especially in margins, otherwise in good to very good condition.

Auguste Mariette. "Album du Musée Boulaq. Kairo". 3 l. and 42 ll. with 42 carbon prints on 40 plates by (Hippolyte) Délié and (Émile) Béchard, most circa 25 x 19,5 cm. Folio, original half-leather (edges rubbed, front cover loose, spine cracked) with gilt-tooling and gilt-stamped title. Cairo, Mourés, 1872.

Perez, Focus East 153 f. A comprehensive documentation of objects from the Egyptian museum in Bulaq, founded in 1858 which was the forerunner of the current Egyptian Museum in Cairo, commentary by the important Egyptologist Auguste Mariette. During a flood in 1878 the museum suffered considerable losses. The book was praised as "one of the most luxurious and finely printed books of the period" (Perez).
