"Schnee-Inseln, Chiemsee" (Snow Islands, Chiemsee). 1958/printed 1980. Oversized ferrotyped gelatin silver print on Agfa paper. 41,2 x 50 cm. Signed, titled, dated and dedicated by the photographer in pencil, as well as photographer's copyright stamp and collection stamp on the verso.

Prints of this image by Peter Keetman in this size are quite rare and this particular print was made especially for the previous owner as the dedication on the verso indicates. – Some small retouched spots, otherwise in excellent condition.

Provenance: Michael Ruetz Collection, to the present owner.

"Dresdner Totentanz" portfolio (compositions from negative/positive montage). 1945 - 1947/printed 1992. 5 gelatin silver prints on thick ivory paper. 32,5 x 23,1 cm (34,3 x 25 cm). Each signed by K. Kesting in pencil, Kesting estate stamp and Griffelkunst edition stamp, as well as number on the verso. In original portfolio with 3 text pages (small fold in upper left corner).

The images include: "Tod über Dresden - Blick über Skelett vom Anatomiesaal der Kunstakademie auf Trümmer der Frauenkirche"; "Sirenen Alarm"; "Feuersturm"; "Tote und Trümmer"; "Toten-Reigen". – Slightly buckled, otherwise in very good condition.

Ballet scene. 1968. Vintage ferrotyped gelatin silver print. 24,7 x 33,7 cm. Photographer's Aufnahme Kilian Stuttgart stamp, estate/copyright stamp and signed and annotated by Gundel Kilian in pencil on the verso.

After attending trade school, Hannes Kilian completed a three-year photography course in Switzerland. From 1933-1938 he lived in Naples and Paris, returning to Germany in 1938 where he worked as a freelance photojournalist. In 1941 he was recruited as a war photographer. As of 1945 Kilian resumed his work as a freelance photographer supplying photographs to magazines such as Time, Picture Post, Zeit, Stuttgarter Illustrierte, Spiegel, Stern and Vogue. As of the 1960s Ballet became one of his main areas of focus. – Slight buckling in edges, some handling marks, otherwise a fine print in very good condition.

Gas station, Croatia. 2017. Fine art print on Hahnemühle Silk Baryta paper. 32 x 24cm (40 x 30 cm). Signed, titled editioned 1/3 by the photographer on the verso.

Katja Krämer always had a strong affinity towards photography. After studying architecture, sculpture and drawing she often used photographs as a starting point for her oil paintings which she began in 2007. As of 2016 she began exhibiting her photographs. The photograph offered here is reminiscent of a hyperrealistic painting. – In excellent condition.
