"The Boy in the City Street". 1973. Vintage large-format matte gelatin silver print. 50,6 x 50,2 cm. Titled and dated in pencil on the verso. Sutkus was one of the founding members of the "Association of Lithuanian Photographers" (1960) and in 1976 became a member of the "International Federation of Photographic Art in UNESCO". His poetic images of the Lithuanian village of his youth show a nostalgic and unique past. – Traces of previous mounting with some paper loss on verso in upper edge, some retouched emulsion loss upper right corner, small tear in upper edge, otherwise a rich dark print in very good condition. |
