"A Fruit Piece"; "The Haystack". 1844/45/printed 1987. 2 salt prints on thick paper from original calotype negative. 17,4 x 20,7 cm and 16,9 x 21,8 cm.

These two prints were made from the original calotype negatives on the occasion of the exhibition and publication of the book "Die Aufgehobene Zeit". – In excellent condition.

Young girl in folkloric dress with doll, Hungary. 1930s. Vintage gelatin silver print on Agfa-Brovira paper. 28,8 x 23,3 cm. Mounted along upper edge in original mat (slightly soiled), annotated by the photographer with technical information in pencil below image on inside of mat, signed by the photographer in pencil in lower right on overmat.

As of April 1938 Lala Aufsberg attended the Staatsschule für Handwerk und angewandte Kunst in Weimar, Department of Photography under Walter Hege. In July 1938 she passed the master examination for the photography trade, returned to Sonthofen in the same year and opened a photo studio.
In 1937 and 1938, Lala Aufsberg documented the Reich Party Congresses in Nuremberg. Her first artistic commission came in 1941/1942, when she photographed wall paintings in churches and monasteries in Carinthia and in another commission in Styria. Aufsberg's almost purist documentary photography has been published in over 500 art books. They document works of art, people and landscapes from almost all European countries. – In excellent condition.

Pierce-Arrow automobile. 1931/printed 1970s-80s. Gelatin silver print. 25,2 x 20,3 cm. Photographer's credit stamp, reproduction and credit limitation stamp and notations in pencil on the verso.

This Pierce-Arrow Convertible Victoria automobile was displayed at the New York Auto Show in 1931 at the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The Model 41 was the grandest model built by Pierce-Arrow that year, and very few remain today. At the time Margaret Bourke White was hired to produce a photo journal for Pierce-Arrow. She was the first woman photographer hired by a major automotive manufacturer. – Corners minimally bumped, otherwise in near excellent condition.
