Minimal spots/soiling in margins, otherwise a rich dark print in very good condition.

Photographer: Giorgio Sommer and unknown.Views of various Italian cities. 1870s/80s. 63 albumen prints. Each circa 26 x 20 cm and 20 x 26 cm. Several with number and title and some with photographer's name in the negative in lower edge, flush-mounted to album boards (time-stained in edges), bound in maroon half-leather album (edges rubbed) with gilt-stamped spine Italie 1880.

This album includes a wide selection of architectural views of Rome, Genoa, Naples, Florence and Pompei, many of which are uncommon. – Several slightly faded, especially in edges, many with good contrasts, some with rich violet-brown tones and generally in good condition.

Some with title and number in the negative in lower edge, mounted to gilt-edged album boards (some light foxing), bound in contemporary decorative black lacquer album gold painting (a few chips in edges) and leather spine, 28 x 37 cm.

An attractive album mostly with picturesque landscapes, but also a few genre scenes. – Some prints with light surface scuff marks/scratches, a few with light foxing, otherwise in good to very good condition and with delicate hand-coloring.

Each circa 19,5 x 25 cm. Some with title and number in the negative in lower edge, mounted to gilt-edged album boards (slightly warped, some foxing/soiling), bound in contemporary decorative black lacquer album with relief scene and mother-of-pearl inlay (some pieces missing, a few small chips), with leather spine (rubbed), 32 x 40 cm.

A very attractive album with many images of geisha, genre scenes and picturesque landscapes and temples. Also inlcudes a print of Felice Beato's "Groom" 1868 (faded). – Some prints slightly faded, some with light surface scuff marks/scratches, otherwise in good to very good condition and with delicate hand-coloring.

Architectural studies of the Poseidon Temple at Cape Sounion (4) and other Greek monuments. 1865-70s. 8 albumen prints. Circa 37,5 x 27 cm. 3 signed by the photographer in the negative in lower left/right, each mounted to board (slightly soiled).

This impressive group of architectural images includes four very rare studies of the Poseidon Temple at Cape Sounion as well as the Theater of Dionysus, the Acropolis and the Philopappos Monument in Athens. – Some light surface scuff marks, some slightly faded, otherwise in good to very good condition.

Koppmann & Co., title and date printed/written in ink below the image on the mount.

Georg Koppmann & Co. was one of the foremost photographers of Hamburg urban views in the second half of the 19th century. The views include: "Kehrwieder vom Quai Speicher aus gesehen"; "Sandthorquai von Quai Speicher aus gesehen"; "Binnenhafen und Kajen bis zur Brooksbrücke" and view of the Außenalster (?). – Prints in good to very good condition.
